Yarn, May (Chapman), 97- Greenwich formerly of Spryfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 4, 2013 at Blomidon Shannex, Greenwich. Born on November 3, 1915 in Harbor Breton, Newfoundland; she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Florence (Sodero) Chapman. May was a devoted mother and homemaker that loved her family wholeheartedly. May was also a lifetime member of the Emmanuel Anglican Church in Spryfield, where she attended faithfully since 1951 until her move to the Berwick in 2003. May will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by sister Blanche Makoski, North York, Ont; sons Harvey, Nanton, Alberta; Bill (Bev), Calgary, Alberta; daughters; Mable (Alfie) Weagle, Halifax; Rhona Pitcher, Dartmouth; Sharon (Donnie) Benson, Berwick; grandchildren, Kevin; Ricky; Lisa; Tina; Lynn; Terri; Kim; Scott; and Tracy; 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brothers-in-law Reg Innis and Dick Smith. Besides her husband Harvey and her parents she is predeceased by brothers; Basil; Henry John; Wesley; sisters; Pearl; Gladys; Mable; Velma; Florence; as well as son-in-law Lew Pitcher. Mayâs family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the extraordinary staff at the Blomidon Shannex you were like âangelsâ to our mom while she was in your care especially during her last days; thank you so much for all that you do. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Service will take place on March 13,2013 at Emmanuel Anglican Church in Spryfield at 2 p.m with Rev.Don Shipton officiating. Following the service there will be a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations in Mayâs memory may be made to Blomidon Shannex Recreation Department, The Emmanuel Anglican Church or the Canadian Red Cross.
