Atwell, Victor Leslie – age 85 years of Gaspereau Mtn. It is with great sadness that we announce Victor’s passing at home surrounded by his loving family on April 27, 2013. Born in Wolfville on March 16, 1928; he was the son of the late Harold and Mildred (McInnes) Atwell. Victor was a plumber by trade, belonging to Local 56 in Halifax for 44 years. He spent a few years working and living in Alberta with his wife Ruby. He loved gardening and enjoyed giving his fruits and vegetables to the local food bank as well as his neighbours and friends. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 56 years Ruby (Ells); sons Richard (Shannon) of Halls Harbour and Mitchell (Mary-Jo) of Calgary; brothers Edward of Wolfville Ridge, Starr of Gaspereau Mtn. and David of Toronto; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Shirley and Gladys; brother Blake and by two infants. In keeping with Victor’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the Gaspereau Cemetery on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 11am with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Victor made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by his family.
