Lynda, Jim & Family, I am so sad to hear of Uncle Leon's passing. I will always think of him fondly and keep the memories I have of him forever. I loved receiving his letters from time to time - he always had alot to say! I wished we didn't have a country between us - I have 1/2 my heart in the states and the other in Nova Scotia. I would have loved being closer to my family in Canada. Will never forget his guitar playing - "Out Behind the Barn" was one of our favorites, along with his yodeling! Rest in Peace, Uncle Leon. We love you. Debbie & Paul

I had the honour of meeting Leon on Remembrance Day in 2011 in his home. Leon and I participated in a outreach program between the Canadian Forces and Atlantic Home Care in Kingston, in which currently serving CF members met with veterans of years gone by. We both realized that although generations apart, Leon and I both had a number of similarities in our personal and work lives. we shared many laughs over a few hours, and since that day, I often thought of Leon on how he was doing. This morning, I found out about Leon's passing and unfortunately won't be able to attend his funeral service. Leon served his country well and will be remembered by myself as well as many others. My time spent with him will be a fond memory for me and certainly a highlight in my career.

I never met Leon, but was part of the team that sent books to him through the Books By Mail service with the Annapolis Valley Regional Library. Leon and I sent notes back and forth regular and I really enjoyed his observations on books and life in general. My thoughts and prayers are with your family as you miss him.

Leon (Noel backwards)) was a good friend, a terrific bridge player and a very caring, intelligent man. His belief in alfalfa as a cure all was legendary. Leon could call you dear, male or female, and you were never offended, because when he did you knew he really cared. The bridge players up above will be in for a treat. They will be amazed and befuddled when he reaches and makes the optimum contract without any fancy conventions. I would like to extend my sympathies to your family and friends. I know he will entertain others as he joins the angels in heaven with his many joyful melodies. Your Friend, Neil

I had the privilege of knowing Leon and seeing him at our Kingdom Hall where he enjoyed learning from the Bible and having association with with his friends. We had the honor of spending time with him on Monday evening at the hospital talking about the things he loved to do and the wonderful life that he has to look forward to in the Paradise on earth that we pray for in the Lord's prayer. We look forward to seeing Leon healthy and happy. Our condolences to his family during this difficult time.
