Doreen Phyllis MacEwan 78, of Windsor, formerly of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Friday May 24th, surrounded by her family after a long battle with COPD. Born in Amherst, NS in 1935 she was the daughter of the late Ernie and Bella Cormier. She is survived by her husband Richard, step daughter Lori (Todd) Metzler, sister Betty Ann (Alan) Nicolson, special nieces Renee Cormier, Jenelle Cormier and Rhonda Lewis, as well as several other nieces and nephews whom she held dear. As well as her parents she was predeceased by brothers Ronald and David and sister Audrey Walker. A talented lady ,âDoddâ was a beautiful knitter, had a flare for decorating and crafts and was a crossword puzzle genius. She was stunningly beautiful with her white hair and always wearing the latest fashion. She loved spending summers at the cottage in Tidnish with family and friends and was considered everyoneâs special aunt Doddie. Doreen will be missed by her many friends at Kingsway Gardens and her cat Toby. A deep hearted thank you to Dr. Bill Enright and the staff at the Windsor Elms for their compassion and care. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on June 9th from 2-4 at the home of Rhonda and Grant Lewis 455 Hwy. 204, Brookdale, NS, all are welcome.
