Obituary of Thomas William Cleveland

Thomas W. Cleveland 88 of Digby, NS passed away June 19th 2013. Born in Yarmouth, NS, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Beatrice (Porter) Cleveland. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Ellen (Topham) in March 2012. Tom will be missed by his family: daughters Marsha (Carl "Sleepy" Thomas), Halifax; Janice Hopper, Dartmouth, Grandson James Hopper(Melissa), Great Grandchild Jenna Hopper. Meredith (Harold) Alexander, Digby, grandchildren Megan Wilcott, Liam Alexander, Rebecca Alexander. Carol (John) Drish, Halifax, step-grandchildren Molly Drish, Patrick Drish. Sons: Tom(Becky), Grafton, grandchildren Nathan Cleveland, Jennifer Cleveland. Ben(Karen), Digby, grandchildren Bethany Cleveland, Sarah Cleveland. John(Lori), Digby, grandchildren Brent Cleveland, Katie Cleveland, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur, Paul and sister Grace. Tom was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment, in Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Donations in Tom's memory may be made to Tideview Terrace, Pleasant Street, Digby, NS. A Graveside Service for family only will be held for Tom and Ellen. There will a reception on July 6, 2013 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 20, 92 Mount Street, Digby, NS for family and friends. All are welcome.
