Carter, Shirley Blanch â (nee Woodworth) age 73 years of Wolfville; passed away peacefully after a long illness at the Wolfville Nursing Home on June 17, 2013. Born in Steam Mill on August 27, 1939; she was the daughter of the late James âWilfredâ and Evelyn (Melvin) Woodworth. Shirley worked in numerous job positions such as Brookfieldâs, owned with her loving husband The Look Off Camp Grounds but loved working in the kitchen at the EMS school in New Minas the best because she loved children. She was a wonderful person who loved everyone and never had a bad word to say. She was a member of the Black Rock Club and the White Rock Baptist Church. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband and best friend Thomas Carter; son Darren Carter; grandchildren Thomas, Andrea and Nickolas; great granddaughter Alexis; sister Helen Wiseman (Ray); brother David (Judy) Woodworth; sisters in law Donna Carter, June MacDonald and Betty Woodworth; brother in law Emmitt âSonnyâ Carter; also by many nieces and nephews who knew her as âAuntieâ. Predeceased by her brother Garnet Elias. In keeping with Shirleyâs wishes, cremation has taken place. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
