Obituary of Nancy Carey

CAREY, Nancy Elizabeth – It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Carey on January 11, 2013 in the Mississauga Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario. Born on July 28, 1922 in Needham, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Kershaw) Wallace. She moved to Avonport, Nova Scotia with her family at an early age. She lived in Nova Scotia until 2002 when she moved to Mississauga, Ontario to be close to her grandchildren. Nancy was a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Nancy is survived by her daughter Jane (David Crawford) and grandchildren Caitlin and Erin, Mississauga, Ontario and her sister Marion, Southwick, Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her husband, Ervin Richard Carey, brothers Avon, Barton, Frederick and Francis. In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a service, followed by a reception, for Nancy at the Avonport Baptist Church on August 24, 2013 at 11am, Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will be in the Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal welfare group, a palliative care unit or the charity of your choice.
