Smith, Pauline Gertrude â age 99 years of Wolfville and formerly of New Minas; passed away peacefully at the Wolfville Nursing Home on August 24, 2013. Born in New Ross on March 2, 1914; she was the daughter of the late Percy and Eva (Hennigar) Gates. Pauline was a member of the Dorcas Society and the Fenerty Mission Group. She loved to play games of Scramble or SkipBo with her friends; and also enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting. Left with fond and loving memories are her son Wayne Smith and his wife Debbie of Kentville; grandchildren Hilary, Jared, Ashley and Adam; sisters Eileen Rafuse of the Windsor Elms, Beulah Doherty of Wickwire Place and Dorothy MacKenzie of the Wolfville Nursing Home; also by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband Dennie in 1978; brothers John and Foster; sisters Frances, Leitha, Lettie and Alberta. A funeral service will be held at the New Minas Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 2pm with Pastor Sterling Gosman officiating. Interment to take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pauline may be made to the New Minas Baptist Church or the charity of the donorâs choice.
