Obituary of Harley Loran Leopold

Leopold, Harley Loran â age 86 years of Windsor passed away peacefully at the Hants Community Hospital on August 24, 2013. Born in Leminster, NS on October 25, 1926; he was the son of the late Robie and Marjorie (Wile) Leopold. He spent his working life in and around the forest with McCully & Son Lumber Co., Elmer Lantz Forestry and later driving the Big Rig for Ray Walker, Don Reeves and Charlie Church. Harley enjoyed hunting and fishing, while spending time with his family and friends at the camp. He was also a member of the Wild Life Association. Harley cherished the moments spent laughing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren; he loved to make people laugh, even in the end. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Rosalie (Rafuse); son Allan Leopold (Cathy) of the Forties; daughters Kathy Leopold of Halifax, Claudette Harvey (Dennis) of Leminster, Charlotte Rowe (Vernon) of Sherbrooke Lake and Tracey Macumber (Winston) of Poplar Grove; grandchildren Bradley, Michelle, Britney, Nicholas, Jesse, Craig, Chad, Joel, Lori, Chelsey, Logan and Taylor; five great grandchildren and step grandsons Ryan and Randy; brothers Chesley (Hilda) Leopold of Waterville, Jeffrey (Muriel) Leopold of Cornwall; sisters Myrna Kelly of Windsor and Ella Boehner (Russell) of Lunenburg; adopted sister Linda Mugridge (Art) of Halifax area; uncle Hughie Wile; also by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Douglas Harley and grandchild baby Maxwell. A special thank you to Natasha Guptill for being by Harleyâs side when he was in need. Keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held from The Forties Baptist Cemetery on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 1 PM with Rev. Craig Faulkner officiating. In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of Harley may be made to the charity of oneâs choice. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.serenitylindsayfuneralhome.ca.
