Keddy, Howard Jean Cameron – age 94 of New Ross passed away October 22, 2013 at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Howard and Hazel (Mullaly) Keddy. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, he was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch 79, New Ross. Known to many as Little Howard he was a kind and generous man, always caring for others. He worked as a cooper making apple barrels, working in lumber mills and the Christmas tree industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He is survived by his daughter Charlotte (Rodney) Swinemar, New Ross; grandson Jonathan (Christina); Great Grand children Dominic, Kennedy and Linnaea; sisters Alice Walker, New Ross and Helen Fairbanks, Bridgewater, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Bernice (Gates); brothers Leo, Russell, Leonard, Avery and sister Ethel. Visitation will be Friday October 25, 2013 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, New Ross Chapel (4935 Hwy 12) with Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 79) service beginning at 7 pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday October 26, 2013 at 2 pm from Christ Anglican Church in New Ross with Rev. Judi Phillips officiating. Donation in memory of Howard may be made to the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department (PO Box 135 New Ross B0J 2M0), Christ Anglican Church New Ross or to the charity of one’s choice.
