Obituary of Charles Desmond Kelly

KELLY, Charles Desmond – 65 of Dartmouth, NS, passed away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital, October 23, 2013. Born in Chatham, NB, Charlie was the son of the late Cletus and Margaret (Desmond) Kelly. He was predeceased by his brother Danny and loving wife Patricia (Balser) Kelly. He is survived by brothers Greg (Liz), Eric (Kelly), sister Carolyn (Greg) MacDonald, step-daughter Kim (Danny) Balser, devoted friends Bobby and Linda Chiasson, many nieces, nephews and numerous other friends. Charlie served several years in the Canadian Armed Forces spending time in Canada and abroad. Most recently he retired from the Halifax Employment Agency (Halterm) where he enjoyed a lengthy career as a longshoreman and as a proud member of the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA). Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Wyndholme Christian Church, 151 Joffre Street, Dartmouth, NS on Saturday, October 26, 2pm, Rev. Jody Johnson officiating.
