McKeil, Alan Curry age 71 years of Berwick, passed away peacefully with his son by his side at the Grandview Manor on November 2nd, 2013. Born in Lower Selma, Hants Co. on May 5th, 1942; he was the son of the late Rex and Ruby (Spares) McKeil. Survived by his son Christopher (Melinda); grandsons Gavin and Jacob all of Whippany, NJ; sisters Betty OToole of Lower Selma and Ada Campbell of Gore; brother Doug (Barb) McKeil of Meadowvale; also by several nieces and nephews. Alan was a career teacher. He graduated from Teachers College in Truro in 1961. He went on to obtain his B.ED. from Acadia University in 1969. Alan taught in several schools in the Annapolis Valley, most notably at Horton High School in Greenwich. Alans family would like to express their deep and sincere appreciation to all the staff at the Grandview Manor for the dedication, love and compassionate care Alan received during his 8 year stay at the manor. In keeping with Alans wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
