???A LOVER OF NATURE AND AN AVID OUTDOOR ENTHUSIAST?? St. Clair, Douglas Roy of Melanson, Kings Co. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doug St. Clair on March 29, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Doug was born in Galt (Cambridge) Ontario on March 10, 1934. He was the only son of the late Roy Douglas & Gladys St. Clair. A graduate of Ryerson technical Institute in Toronto, Doug began his career in Galt & later moved to Nova Scotia. Much of his working career he worked at Lindsay Enterprises in Dartmouth as a design/build contractor & held the position of Vice President & shareholder of the company for many years. He was a hard working dedicated man who always enjoyed a challenge. Although Doug was a private person he enjoyed people and he liked to socialize with friends. On his retirement he looked forward to spending time in his garden, pruning his apple trees, kayaking and canoeing at the cottage & watching the NASCAR races on television. Doug was a very agile, active & talented man. He loved his daily swim & during the winter he enjoyed curling, skiing & skating. He also looked forward to his trips south during the winter & particularly enjoyed his trip of a life time when he travelled to Australia, New Zealand & Fiji. Doug is survived by his wife and soulmate, Jane Aalders St. Clair ,Wolfville; son, Roy Douglas ???Todd?? St.Clair (Susan); granddaughter, Katharine, Kingston, Ont., daughter, Lisa (Robert) St. Clair; grandson, Ronan, Wolfville. Doug also has two sisters, Lois Wylie, Cambridge, Ont.; Nancy (Ken) Bagshaw, Wasaga Beach, Ont.; several nieces & nephews. Besides his parent, he was predeceased by a sister, Donna Hogan, Sarnia, Ont.; & a daughter, Victoria ???Tori??, Halifax. The family would like to thank the staff at Valley Regional Hospital & a special thank you to the staff at Grand View Manor in Berwick for their kindness & care during the past 3 years. At Doug??s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the care & direction of the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. Coldbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
