Nette, Alan Leen, 54, beloved son, brother, father, uncle and cousin, passed away suddenly at his home, April 7th 2012. Alan was the eighth and youngest child of Leen and Trudy Nette of Weston, Kings Co. Alan attended West Kings District High School, completing his last year in Inuvik where his sister Corliss lived at the time. Family ties remained important to Alan throughout his life. He completed training as an Industrial Electrician at the Community College in Whitehorse, Yukon, 1978. He subsequently worked with Northwest Tel Communications in the Yukon and Northwest Territories for the following eight years. Family ties brought Alan back to Nova Scotia where he settled on his treasured little homestead on Prospect Road. This is where Alan died of his apparent heart attack. Alan is survived by his mother, Trudy (Grand View Manor), his daughter, Tammie Rooseboom, sisters, Klaziena Pemberton, Berwick, Veronica (Cliff MacDonald), White Rock, BC, brothers, Adrian (Sally O??Grady) Annapolis Royal; Tony (Marjorie), Morristown; Andrew (Linda), Port Williams; sister, Corliss (Pat McCloskey), Brisbane, Australia; aunts, nieces, nephews, special cousin, Monica Killam and many more cousins in the Valley, across Canada and in Holland. Alan was predeceased by his father, Leen in 1999 and sister, Daphne in 1974. No visitation by family request. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Annapolis Vallley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, (Exit 14) Coldbrook. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home at 1:00pm Sunday April 15th . Alan was a unique person, especially treasured because he was so tender, timid and sensitive.
