Frank passed away on May 31, 2012 after a long and full life. He was born in Sherbrooke, the son of John and Blanche (MacDonald) Jordan. He was predeceased by his wife Joan Armstrong, his sister Jennie Cruickshank, brother Stanley Jordan and a granddaughter Sarah MacInnes. He was 95 years old. These years were filled with a wealth of experiences and relationships that enriched the lives of all around him. He is survived by his daughters Christine, Sherbrooke N.S., and Jane (Peter MacInnes) Gaspereau N.S., Grandchildren Jordan, Dominican Republic, Daniel, Wolfville N.S., Sean, Seoul, South Korea, and Keely (Thomas Carter), Wolfville N.S., great grandchildren Maddon MacInnes (Daniel), Moncton N.B., and Alexa Carter (Keely) Wolfville N.S. Frank??s service to his community was well beyond what we would normally expect. After serving in the RCAF during WW II he was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #56, in which at one time or another he held all offices. He was also a long time member of the Masons. He was a founding member and first president of the Down East Fire Fighter??s Association. For seven years he was a member of the Sherbrooke Village Commission serving as Chairman. He served as President of the Nova Scotia Postmasters Association for District 5. He was a founding member St. Mary??s Historical Society and President for many years. He held a membership in many organizations including The Arthritis Association, Neighbourhood Watch, Nova Scotia Bird Society, Nova Scotia Heritage Trust, The Royal Horticultural Society of London, Sherbrooke Amateur Athletic Association, Heritage Canada, St. Mary??s Boat Club, and the St. Mary??s Salmon Association. Frank was a general merchant in Sherbrooke for twenty-four years and Supervising Postmaster for the district for over thirteen years, retiring in November 1982. In addition to these many accomplishments he maintained a lovely home and garden on Cameron Road in Sherbrooke. He also cared for his wife Joan, who suffered a lengthy illness with arthritis, at home for many years. Frank was a servant to his community and family and will be fondly remembered by them. Visitation will be at the Presbyterian Church Sherbrooke Friday evening June 8 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral service will be held Saturday June 9, 2012 at 3:30 PM at the Presbyterian Church Sherbrooke followed by a reception at the Sherbrooke Lions Hall. Private interment at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Sherbrooke.
