Durling, Kirk Norwood, 57 of New Minas, Kings Co. passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was the only son of the late Alden & Eva (Burgoyne) Durling. Kirk was employed for some 34 years as a process operator at the Frito Lay Plant in New Minas. He was an avid hunter & a loving father & grandfather. He is survived by son, Kevin, Trenton; daughters, Karen (Nathan) Schofield, North Alton; Kristy, New Minas; grandchildren, Mariah, Austin, Tad and Noah. Kirk was predeceased by his parents; his wife the former, Nancy Metzler & brother-in-law, Kevin Metzler. There??ll be no visitation by family request. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday from the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (Exit 14), Coldbrook. Rev. Archdeacon Lynn Uzans officiating. Interment will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Kirk may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the IWK Hospital for Children.
