Harris, Lois Dorothy ??? 93 of Windsor formerly of Wolfville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 in the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John & Ada (McCoush) Hillier. In her youth, she was a terrific swimmer & skater. Following high school she enroled in a business program & spent the bulk of her working years in Halifax. During her decades in Halifax she was a member of & Sunday School teacher at St. Andrew??s United Church. Lois and her husband lived in Manitoba during W.W. II while he was in the RCAF. Later in her retirement, she lived on Westwood Ave. in Wolfville until June 2008. Lois was an avid bridge player and she and her dog, Lucy, were iconic figures in the town of Wolfville for many years. She is survived by two sons: Everett (Sharon McIntyre) of Port Hawkesbury, & Dr. Robert (Jane) of North Alton; grandchildren: Robert R. Harris (Nancy) of New Orleans; James M.W. Harris of Port Hawkesbury; Dr. Jonathan Harris of Mountain View, California; Dr. Luke Harris of Prince George, B.C.; former daughter-in-law, Shon Whitney; four great grandchildren: Henry, Fiona, Evelyn & Meredith; brother, Ivan (Lucy) Hillier of London, Ont. Lois was predeceased by her husband, James Anderson; brothers: Joseph, Samuel & Lorne; sisters: Sarah, Sady, Lillian, Ruth & Betty. Cremation has taken place under the care & direction of the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook. A reception will be held from 4 p.m. -6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec.1st, at the home of Robert & Jane Harris, North Alton (902-681-0100). Interment will occur in St. Luke??s United Church Cemetery, Donkin, Cape Breton, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lois may be made to the Alzheimer??s Society, or the charity of one??s choice. Online condolences may be made through www.annapolisvalleyfuneralhome.com
