Obituary of Ellen Dorothy Welner

Welner, Ellen Dorothy ???Dot??, 83, of New Ross, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully in her home, Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Born in New Ross, she was a daughter of the late John & Janet (Boylan) Larder. Dot was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She taught school for 31 years and her last 20 years of teaching were in the Gold River - Western Shore Elementary . She was a founding member of the New Ross fire fighter??s auxiliary; a founding member of the New Ross Citizens on Patrol and also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #79, New Ross. Dot is survived by her husband of 59 years, Laurence; daughter, Linda (Daryl) Reeves, New Ross; son, John (Staci Hiltz), New Ross; five grandchildren, Erika, Alex & Emma Reeves; Adrian & Kyle Welner. She was predeceased by sister, Mary Keddy; brothers, John, Patrick, James & Phillip. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am until service time of 11:00 am in the St. Patrick??s Roman Catholic Church, New Ross on Saturday, Jan 28th . Father Eric Theriault officiating. Cremation will follow & interment will be held at a later date. A reception will follow the service in the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department Hall, New Ross. Family flowers only.
