Perry, Bessie Leona, 96, of Grand View Manor, Berwick, formerly of North East Harbour, Shelburne Co., passed away on Sunday, April the 26, 2009. Born in South Brookfield, January 21, 1913, she was the daughter of Perrie and Lucy (Cashman) Hunt. Surviving are her son, Curtis (Jean) McKenney Jr. and stepchildren, Ruby (Ches) Matheson; Marjorie Dresser; Rodney (Blanche) Perry and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Perry, son Lawrence McKenney, and stepchildren Cecil Perry, Keith Perry, Doris Goulden, Bertha Ritcey, and Marion Swaine. For a number of years, Bessie and Harry lived as sole occupants on Cape Negro Island, where Harry was the lightkeeper. Bessie enjoyed playing cards, and caring for her small flower gardens. She was fond of animals, especially her cats. No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook. Interment at Ingomar Cemetery, Shelburne Co., will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Bessie Perry may be made to a charity of one??s choice.
