Obituary of Alden Coldwell

Coldwell, Alden Daniel Burpee, 87, of Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, formerly of 1790 Davidson Street, Gaspereau Mountain, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2006 in the home. Born on Davidson Street, Gaspereau Mountain he was a son of the late Burpee Allison and Elta Harriett (Coldwell) Coldwell. Alden farmed all his working life. He is survived by brother, Lloyd, Sault St. Marie, Ont.; sister, Mary McCallow, Simcoe, Ont.; several nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grandnieces, great grandnephews and great grandnieces. Alden was predeceased by sisters: Muriel Johnson of Halifax ; Dorothy Belfountain of Bedford; Vera Davidson of Gaspereau and Martha Strong of Chester, New Hampshire.; brother , Ralph of Gaspereau. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook (Exit 14) and from where funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 22; followed immediately by a reception. Rev. Mark Shaw officiating. Interment will be in the Gaspereau Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alden's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Lymphoma Foundation of Canada, the Alzheimer Society or a charity of choice.
