Foster, Florence Mabel "Florrie", 93, of Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co, passed away Friday, October 6, 2006 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Alice Gertrude (Howard) Edges. Florrie came to Canada from England in 1952 and lived in Dartmouth. In 1954 she went to work as a CNA at the Nova Scotia Hospital where she became charge nurse of Unit #1. She later went to work at the Victoria General Hospital from where she retired in 1974. Florrie was very fond of playing cards and enjoyed going around to different communities to card parties. She is survived by sons: Ian Robin McEune, Ajax, Ont., Royce Christopher McEune, Edmonton, AB; sisters: Muriel and Ruth both of England. She was predeceased by her 1st husband Christopher McEune, 2nd husband David Foster; a sister, Beatrice; brothers: Arthur, Dennis, Bernard and Leonard. There will be no visitation by her request. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday from the Lawrencetown United Baptist Church, Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co. Rev. Barbara Bishop officiating. Cremation will follow the service with interment in the Whitman Cemetery, Lawrencetown at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Coldbrook.
