In later years he farmed beef and worked in the woods with frequent able help of sons, Brian (Pat) Black River, Richard (Valerie), Hebbville, Laurie (Judy) White Rock and hay season help of his loyal grandchildren. Lloyd lived with daughter Emily (Ian Purdy), Black River and their children at the home place for his last years. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Ruby, in 1994, sister, Merle (Ted) Schofield, brothers: Ivan and Arnel and long tome friend and neighbor, Hazel Smith.
