Brown, Irene Theresa, 84, of Wolfville Nursing Home, formerly of New Minas passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the nursing home. Born in Waterville, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia Jane (Jewers) Mailman. Irene worked for many years at the B.F.M. Hospital, Kentville and at the nurses dormitory. She also worked at Cyrus and Manning Ells egg plant for a time. She is survived by her son Arthur "Bubs" (Dorothy), Nashwaak Bridge, N.B.; grandchildren: Anne, Rick, Glen and Mark, great grandchildren: Jason, Matthew, Chantal, Riley, Tiffanie and Draven. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, daughter Wendy Gates, half sisters: Olive, Winnie and Annie; brothers: George, Calvin, Arthur and James. Visitation will be Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. and funeral service will be 2 :00 p.m. Wednesday both at the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, (Exit 14) Coldbrook. Pastor Wayne Nicholson officiating. Interment will be in the Greenfield Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation.Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Coldbrook.
