Carey, Frederick Vernon "Ted", 69 passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct.14, 2007 at his home on Lincoln Avenue, Kingston, after a courageous battle with cancer. Formerly of Scott??s Bay, Ted was the son of the late Delbert Carey and Leora Carey of Wolfville. Ted was a friend to all who knew him, kindhearted and always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially by the folks at Lincoln Court. Surviving is his loving wife of 48 years, Lillian (Banks) Carey and twin sons: Don (Lisa), Wilmot and Ron (Stacey), Greenwood; brothers: William "Bill" (Carolyn), Sommerset; Donald (Barb), New Minas; sisters: Vinetta (Bob) Hines, Canning; Sharon (Graham), Bridgetown; Beatrice, Wolfville; Judy, Windsor; Debbie (Earl Blenus), Coldbrook; grandchildren: Marshall, Christopher, Ronald, Bianca, Brandon, Kaylee, Jane and Isaac; many nieces & nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Marie Banks. At Ted??s request, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 7-9pm. Friday and memorial service will take place 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20th both from the funeral home at 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook (Exit 14). Rev. Tim Bigelow will officiate. Burial at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. No flowers by request. Donations in memory of Ted may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, to the VON or to the Annapolis Valley Home Care. On line condolences may be made through www.annapolisvalleyfuneralhome.com
