Obituary of Basil Eugene McCullough

McCullough, Basil Eugene – age 78 years of Waterville, passed away on December 11, 2013 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He never lost his will to comfort others with his sense of humor and storytelling. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing and camping with his best friend and brother Vernon. Born in New Tusket, he was one of sixteen children born to the late Sebry and Alicia (Mullen) McCullough. He is survived by his children Gordon and Tim McCullough both of Waterville; Peggy McCullough of Cornwallis, Connie Hobson (David) of Berwick, Colleen Schofield (Ron) of Windermere; grandchildren Logan (Courtney) of Coldbrook, Miranda, Jessica and Tamara of Berwick, Sarah of Alberta and Stephanie of Windermere; sisters Lennie Marshall, Wynona Naugler, Phyllis Stewart, Freta Trimper and brother Vernon McCullough. In keeping with Basil’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:30am from the Southville Community Cemetery in Weymouth. Reception to follow at the Southville Church of Christ, Southville. Donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the VON.
