Weldon Fuller Turner, born in Weslford, Kings County, NS, passed away at The Moncton Hospital Tuesday December 17, 2013. He was the son of the late E. Irvine and Constance (Fuller) Turner and step son of the late Margaret (Petrie) Turner. He was a graduate of the Nova Scotia Agriculture College. He moved to Salisbury, NB in 1948 assuming the responsibility for bus transportation at the new Regional High School in Salisbury. Later he operated Turner’s Esso Service on the Salisbury Rd. and Moncton, following which he joined R. K. Buzzell as an automotive technician until his retirement. In his retirement he was an enthusiastic Amateur Radio Operator (VE9WN). For several years he studied genealogy, as well as documenting several New Brunswick cemeteries. He donated valued records and artifacts to the Westmorland Historical Society and the Keillor House Museum. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Otty (George) of Fort Langley, BC, brother, Bill Turner (Virginia) of Dartmouth, NS, nephews, David Turner of Edmonton, George Otty of Fort Langly, BC and grand nieces; Jennifer Otty and Amanda Otty both of Fort Langley, BC. Besides his parents and step mother he is predeceased by his older brother, Edward. The family received friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center (Riverview, NB) on Thursday evening. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 1pm from Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home and Chapel, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, NS., (538-9900).
