Monk, Harold Glen - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Glen Monk at the age of 83 on December 21st, 2013 at the Valley Regional Hospital. He was born in Kingsville, Ontario and formally of Wilmot, Nova Scotia. He was the son of the late Carl and Margaret Monk. Harold served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #98 in Kingston. Harold enjoyed golfing, reading and nature. He is survived by his wife Esther (McDow) Monk of 61 years, daughters Shelly (David) Foster of Greenwood, Bonnie (Allsion) Spinney of Meadowvale, son Glen (Jill) Monk of Essex, Ontario as well as brothers Carl and Elmer both of Ontario. As well as 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Harold was pre-deceased by brothers Alvin, John and sister Mary. The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Cole and the paramedics from Middleton and the Valley Regional Hospital doctors and staff. In keeping with Harolds wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on December 23rd, 2013 at 1:00pm from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #98 in Kingston. Family requests no flowers. Donations in his memory can be made to the Legion Branch #98 or charity of ones choice.
