My condolences to all of you. Sorry that I was not able to attend the visitation or funeral due to health issues. I will remember Ken for his smile and chuckle. Good to have seen Donn, Eleanor, and Joyce at the school reunion last summer. And thanks to Donn and Eleanor for meeting me on the run at the VRH to give an update on your dad.
Every time I drive by the house I think of you all.

Dear Friends,
I'm sorry for your loss of a dear father and I feel for you that the day of the service had to be changed. That is rough.
I clearly remember your dad picking Joyce and I up at the Halifax airport (Kelly Lake it was called then)in 1972 when we arrived back from Ottawa. That school trip was a highlight. I remember him as so happy to see Joyce, ever smiling, and kind. We had a delightful trip back home to the Valley.
I felt so bad when your mom died and I was very pleased for all of you that he continued on at home, keeping house and providing a place for all of you, even when you were on your own, to come home to. I know that all of you helped achieve that as well.
Finally, I want to mention the gladiolas that I think you dad sold near road- I might be wrong but I thought they were his. I often traveled that way
to Black Rock and each time the flowers made me smile - I loved to see them there.
Your dad was a lovely man and even when I saw him last fall at the hospital with Joyce and Eleanor and he was so sick, he still looked like the man I once knew.
Sending love and Prayers to All,
Heather

To Ken's Family
It was my pleasure and privilege to have known Ken for many years. He set a very good example how life should be lived. You always knew that Ken would be smiling and ready for a game of cards, general chit-chat or whatever, no complaining. Visits to the valley will not be the same.

David, Eleanor, Joyce, Carol:
I visited Ken and Isabel quite a bit as a child growing up - with my mother who was a life-long friend of Isabel. Big side yard. Lots of equipment. Chickens laying eggs. Cows needing to be herded into the barn. Big meals. Isabel talking a mile a minute, and Ken always genial and good humoured. When I was about 13, Ken drove a whole bunch of us out to the cottage in Medford and put a young woman on my lap as we had to cram in. With a twinkle in his eye, he told me that he would have enjoyed it at my age. And I did. A hard worker and a good man. That generation is almost done now. It had a lot to be proud of.
My condolences.
