Obituary of Daniel Douglas Kelley

KELLEY, DANIEL DOUGLAS – age 64 years of Wolfville. Dan passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer at the Valley Regional Hospital. He was born on July 21, 1949 to the late Murray Kelly and the late June Lawson. He was raised by his grandmother Abigail Kelley, the woman he called Mom. Dan felt great pride in his long career as truck driver and school bus driver. Through his career he made many friends. He is survived by his wife and long time friend Barbara; his children Daryl (Jen) Ontario, Kristyna (Michael) British Columbia, Jeanette (Jason) New Minas, Joshua (Rose) Weymouth, Amanda (Ron) Wolfville and 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by several siblings. He was pre-deceased by his grandmother Abbie, his brother Bruce and his uncle Stewart. A gathering will take place to celebrate Dan’s life on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 2-4pm at the Horton Community Centre. A private family burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the V.O.N Palliative Care Foundation would be greatly appreciated by his family.
