DAVID CHARLES HASLER, May 10, 1928 – May 25, 2014 passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Dave leaves behind his beloved wife, Loraine (Graves), his children, Colleen, David (Paula), Maureen (Larry), Michael (Mary Margaret), Mary, Susan, Dan (Tracy), Christa (Wayne), Bill (Bride), Maria (Sean). Grandchildren, Shannon, Mark, Christopher, Joshua, Olivia, Ryan, Josef, Mikel, Niki, Danielle, Megan, Janna, Katie, Ellen, Lynzie, Darcy, Will, Michael, Gianna. Great grandchildren, Jayden, Blake and Quinlee. His brother Arthur (Rita), sisters, Catherine, Dorothy, Eileen (Al). Dave was predeceased by his father, John Thomas Hasler, his mother, Ellen Jane (Jackson), brother, Thomas John (Cerita), sister Marion (Walter). Dave served his country for 21 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, retiring in 1969. He went on to a second career in car sales for Scotia Chev Olds/O’Reagen’s. He was a great friend of Bill W. Dave enjoyed life to the fullest. He was happy spending time at the family camp, hunting and fishing. He loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. Most of all Dave loved his family and being in their midst at the many family gatherings. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, at Albert J. Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 10:30 am. at St Michaels Church, St. Michael's Avenue, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic child sponsorship program, ‘Chalice’. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapel, Coldbrook (902-679-2822). Online condolences may be made by visiting www.serenitylindsayfuneralhome.ca.
