Obituary of Linda Mae Baxter

Baxter, Linda Mae-age 68, of Digby passed away at the Digby General Hospital on Sunday, August 3, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Born on July 28, 1946 in Round Hill, Annapolis County she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Thelma (Delaney) Hicks. Left with fond and loving memories is her sister Luella Marshall (Robert), South Range, Digby County; sister in-laws, Gail Hicks, South Rawdon and Sharon Hicks, Halifax and their families. She will also be fondly remembered by John’s brothers, Robert (Louise), Eddie (Ruth) of Glace Bay and Blaine (Joanne) of ON. Predeceased in March 2014 by her loving husband John Baxter, together now forever; brothers, Richard and Dudley Hicks; infant son, Ryan Scott. Linda retired from the Sir Frederick Fraser School for the Blind in Halifax, where she was resident supervisor for many years. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitching and attending family gatherings. She especially looked forward to time spent with her nieces and nephews; her lifelong friend, Lynn Duncan; her daughter Julie and her son Nathan. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation. A joint memorial service for both John and Linda will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, 11am at Trinity Anglican Church, 109 Queen Street, Digby with reception to follow at the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations in Linda’s memory can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Roof Fund for the Anglican Rectory.
