Obituary of Elias James Shaw

Shaw, Elias James - age 87 years of Berwick, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2014. Born on April 6, 1927 in Grand Mira, Cape Breton; he was the son of the late James and Mary Shaw. Left with fond and loving memories are his devoted wife of 64 years Eunice (Doyle) Shaw; daughter Valerie Jones and her husband Roger of Fredericton; granddaughter Pamela Jones of Fort McMurray. Predeceased by his son John William Shaw; daughter Judith Ann Shaw; brothers Bernie and James; sisters Mary and Catherine. Elias retired from MTT after 42 years service as a District Supervisor, he was involved with the local food bank for 10 years and served as past president, also he was a member of the MTT Pioneer's Association and Meals on Wheels. Special thank you to Dr. Robin Bustin and all staff at the Grandview Manor for their special care, love and support shown to Elias and Eunice. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Berwick on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00am with Fr. John MacPherson officiating. Interment to follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. In lieu of flowers, donations made directly to the Grandview Manor would be appreciated by his family.
