Obituary of Gary Steele

Steele, Gary David – 68 of New Minas, passed away Saturday November 8th, 2014 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Cora Smith, Scots Bay and the late David Steele. Gary will be remembered as a wise and funny man with a heart of gold. His humour is unforgettable. Gary was very proud of his Nova Scotia heritage and enjoyed keeping track of his ancestry. He touched many lives of those family and friends near and far. Gary is survived by his soul mate and wife, Marilyn Elliott, New Minas; daughter, Charlene (Lorne) McMillan, St. Catherine’s ON.; step daughter, Shannon nee Archbold (Rob Sheehy) Callaghan, New Minas; brothers, Blaine (Nola), Greenwood, Larry (Marilyn), Coldbrook, Darrell (Theresa), Scots Bay, Bev (Bonnie Carter), North Kentville; three grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville Chapel (902-542-4656). There is no funeral service at this time, by Gary’s request. Donations in memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
