Leighton, Howard "Butch" - age 65 years of Aylesford and formerly of Digby, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2014 with his family by his side at the Valley Regional Hospital.
Born in Moncton, NB on July 13, 1949. Butch served with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years.
He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed playing bingo and darts. Many Sunday afternoons were spent finding treasures with Lana at local yard sales.
Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Lana (Titus) Leighton; daughters Joyce Stowards (Mike) of Airdrie, AB, Shelly Leighton (Matt Sibley) of CBS, NL and Crystal Potrebenko (Scott) of Sherwood Park, AB; stepsons Trent Albright of Freeport and Tristan Albright of Aylesford; grandchildren Calista and Avery, Neisha, Dwight and Phallon; special friend Frank Collins of Gander, NL and his dog companion Ceaser.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11am with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating.
Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Butch made to the NS Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetic Association would be greatly appreciated by his family.
