MAGEE, GEORGE HENRY – 90 of Somerset died peacefully on January 12, 2015 at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on August 2, 1924 he was the son of the late George and Nina (Illsley) Magee of Somerset. George was predeceased by his brother Allan (Hettie), Ontario; sisters Elizabeth (Ross) MacDonald, Ontario; Eunice (Richard) Sircom, Nova Scotia, and is survived by his sister Jean (William) Jackson, British Columbia, and several nieces and nephews. George operated the family farm in Somerset all his life. A quiet, modest man, he was involved in the community, as a member of the Nova Scotia Fruit Growers Association, Trustee of the Somerset Community Hall, a member of the Berwick United Church (Choir), Senior Life Elder of the church and served many roles within the church. The family is especially indebted to George's long-time friend Erdeena Brannon of Berwick, who served as companion and care-giver during his later years. As per George’s request, Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at the Berwick United Church at a later date. Burial in the Berwick Cemetery following the service. As per the family request, donations may be made to the Berwick United Church or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home (Berwick Chapel), 192 Commercial Street, (902) 538-9900.
