Obituary of Ella Dorlene Hewitt
Please share a memory of Ella to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
HEWITT, Ella Dorlene, 74 of Truro passed away peacefully at the Colchester East Hants Medical Centre on March 1, 2015. Born on December 5, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Kain) Brown. Left with fond memories are daughters Carey (Mike) MacLean, Coldbrook, NS; Dawn, Truro, NS; and son Richard, ON; grandchildren Dalton, Connor and Karley. Ella was predeceased by husband Ronald Hewitt (1988). Dorlene loved to reminisce about her time working at Stanfields and her time spent in Port Hope and Rice Lake, Ontario. During her time in Ontario, she was heavily involved in politics and was always one to express her views. One of her favourite activities was watching her baseball games and cheering for her beloved Toronto Bluejays. Family and friends knew not to disturb her during a Jays game. She also loved to visit the library and often left with ten books at a time. Dorlene had a strong faith and extended that to her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of those whom she had touched. As per Dorlene request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapels (Coldbrook) (902) 679-2822. Online condolences may be made by visiting serenitylindsayfuneralhome.ca.
