HUGHES, CAROL ANN, Age 76, Hantsport passed away suddenly at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, on March 5th, 2015 with her family by her side. Born on October 22, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Owen and Naomi (Conrad) Oickle. When Carol first settled in Hantsport she worked at the Nova Scotia Textile in Windsor, Nova Scotia for 2 years. The one job Carol loved to do was being an Avon Representative, she was in the Presidents Club for 27 years. Her husband and her grandchildren, where the love of her life. Carol was also a Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #09, Windsor, Nova Scotia. Left with fond and loving memories is her husband of 55 years Leonard; sons Leonard Jr. Kirkland Lake, ON, and daughter Catherine (Murray) Steele, Hantsport, NS; sister Emily Fralic, Milton, Queens County, NS; sisters-in-law Evelyn Oickle and Maude Oickle; granddaughters Tara-Lynn Steele, Jessica Steele, Lyla Hughes; grandsons Murray, Jonathan and David Steele and great grand children David Steele, Bentley Steele and Emma Horsman; also extended grandchildren Grace Bird and Anita McLellan. Carol was predeceased by son David; brothers Murray, Ivan and David. As per Carol’s wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. in Wolfville Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at a later date.
