CHURCH-REID, Doris May, 78 years passed away on March 9, 2015 at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, Nova Scotia. Born on August 19, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Percy and Mildred (Benedict) Peach of Falmouth. Predeceased by her first husband Stanley Church, second husband Gordon Reid and an infant daughter Tina. Surviving are her sons Ricky (Rhonda) Church, Newport, NS; Danny Church(Georgina Wiswell) Dartmouth, NS; Jason Church(Mary Pearo), Paradise, NL; daughters Darlene Lawrence (Craig Webb), Falmouth, NS; Annette (Kevin) Patterson, Bridgewater, NS; Sherri Lynn (Jonathan) Dube, BC; fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. During Doris's younger years she worked with her first husband Stanley in the woods hauling, yarding and cutting logs and fire wood, transporting by both horse and truck. Doris then worked at Ski Martock for many years and then went to work at the Windsor Forks Elementary school as head cook. She enjoyed her time there as she had a chance to see most of the neighborhood and community children grow up and move on to high school. She was also employed at Hawbolts laundromat in Windsor for many years. Doris loved to go to dances at the local legion where she meet her second husband Gordon Reid whom she loved to travel with, along with special little friend Shadow. She enjoyed having family around on special occasions, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she was always concerned about their well being. Doris resided at the Windsor Elms Village where she passed away. She had many friends and enjoyed all the staff and residents. The family would like to thank the staff of Meadowview Landing for their professionalism, love, and care during her time at the Elms. As per Doris request Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Donations in Doris memory may be made to the Windsor Elms Village, Meadowview Landing or to a charity of one’s choice.
