MORINE, MARJORIE JEAN Age 90, New Minas, formerly from Wolfville, passed away at home on March 5, 2015. Born on September 17, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Norman S. and Muriel E. (Jones) MacRae of Lower Wolfville. Predeceased by husband Lemuel G. Morine (1976). Jean is survived by son Norman (Martins Point); sister Margaret (Peggy) Hutton, Grande Cache, AB; niece Christine Phillips (Aluin), Grande Cache, AB; and Jill Robinson, Grande Cache, AB as well as nephew Neil Robinson, Australia. Jean retired from Maritime Tel and Tel in 1987 receiving the President’s Silver Tray for years of service; and was a Canadian Red Cross Society volunteer for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, wildlife and feeding her ducks on the pond. Jean indulged in a variety of craft works: painting, baking, winning many cooking contests; played several musical instruments and was a member of a local band for some years – singing on radio and stage. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service, interment at a later date in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. Donations in Jean’s memory can be made to the SPCA Kings County or a charity of one’s choice.
