Obituary of Otis Wallace Lutz

LUTZ, Otis Wallace Age 91 of Berwick passed away at the Valley Regional Hospital on April 23, 2015. Born on May 30, 1923 he was the son of the late Brenton and Evelyn (Arnold) Lutz. Otis is survived and will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 71 years JoEllen; daughter Patricia (Peter) Pozdnekoff ; Dartmouth; son Terry (Diane)Cochrane, Alberta; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Reginald, Cecil, Lorimer and Boyd. Otis entered the work force at the age of 14, and joined the Army in 1939. Returning home he started farming in Welsford in 1946, where he enjoyed an active career both in farming and construction for nearly 50 years. He was a member of the Lions Club for 55 years, and was a Legion Member for 68 years. Otis was an avid gardener, a woodsman and machine operator, and loved the jam sessions. He was also known to enjoy a game of crib and his weekly poker. There will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015; 2p.m. at the Berwick Funeral Chapel, Rev. Tom Woods officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshment will follow the service. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Berwick Lions Club.
