LUSHMAN, Norman Matthew - 62, Halifax, passed away on May 3, 2015 at the Palliative Care at the QEII in Halifax. Born on November 20, 1952 in Ramea, Newfoundland he was the son of the late John and Mary Lushman. Norman went to the School for the Deaf in St. John's, Newfoundland then to the Vocational School in Amherst. He worked at a fish plant in Newfoundland for years then moved to Halifax. His passion was cooking and he later worked at the Lord Nelson as a Cook until his illness. Norman enjoyed playing Dingo (Deaf bingo) and socializing with friends. Norman is survived by brothers, Jack (Jane); Dave (Sharon); Roland (Peggy); Edwin (Jackie); Wayne (Kayla); and Thomas; sisters, Elsie (Cyril) Noseworthy; Ada (John) Clothier; Louise (Nick) Brayon; several nieces, nephews, cousins and also close family and friends. He will be missed by his beloved cat Dale. Norman's family want to express many thanks to Betty MacDonald, Richard Martell, Mary Green and Mabel and Frank D'Eon for all their patience with him through his illness. They are true friends and will always be cherished. There will be a Memorial Service at a later date followed by a reception at Northwood, 2615 Northwood Terrace. Burial will be in Ramea, Newfoundland. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norman's memory may be made to SDHHNS or the Northwood Deaf Activity Fund.
