Obituary of Doreen Mildred Hood

Hood, Doreen Mildred (Trahan) - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen Mildred Hood, 70, of Alton, on May 18th after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 15, 1945 in Paget, Ontario, she was the daughter of late Victor and Helen (Howard) Trahan. Doreen is survived by her loving husband Donald; daughter, Donna (Brent) Delaney; sons, Dan (Kelly) and Donald (Robin); seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, Victor (Fran) and Levi (Betty); sisters, Alice and Sandra. She was predeceased by sister Marie and brother Louis. Doreen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family and friends and has left them a legacy of love. She had many interests and was a true artist. This showed in all of her artwork, including her painting and carving. She loved playing cards and was never one to pass up a good game of crib. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her life long friend Jackie. Their shared love of eagles was depicted in much of Doreen's artwork. She will be greatly missed and remains forever in our hearts. A private family service is planned for a later date. Donations in Doreen's memory may be made to the Cancer Society or charity of choice.
