Obituary of Jill Ellen Scott

Scott, Jill Ellen passed away peacefully on June 1, 2015 at 9:10am at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born on April 5, 1949 in New York City, she was the daughter of George and Lillian Alper. Jill graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and the State University of Stony Brook in New York. A 28-year resident of Halifax, Jill was a devoted member of the Shambhala Community and a dedicated student of Japanese tea ceremony. She served as the Associate Director in the Shambhala International Office of Practice and Education for 15 years. She is survived by her husband Michael Scott, son David (fiancée Elena Megalos), son Daniel (wife Nina Eddy Scott) and their two children, Josephine and Annabelle, and her brother Larry Alper (wife Kathy Ernst) and their two daughters, Kyla and Molly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kalapa Cha Tea Group c/o Mindy Moore, 17 Fleming Drive, Halifax, NS B3P 1A8.
