RICKETTS, EVA SHIRLEY, 89, Aldershot, passed away on June 6, 2015 at the Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Born on October 19, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Jane (Payne) Mills. Shirley is what she loved to be called. She worked at the Nova Scotia Sanatorium as a CNA; and here is where she met Mike, and they were married on November 4, 1950. Shirley worked from 1975 1986 at Palmeters Nursing Home in the Childrens Ward (now Evergreen Home for Special Care) Shirley loved her children and her grandchildren dearly, and welcomed all with an open heart. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Michael; sons Robert, Toronto; David (Julia Day) Lumsdens Pond; Patrick (Sharon Penney) Kentville; Wayne Mills (Alice), Ontario; daughters Ann Myles (Robert) Kentville; Heather (Tim) Jordan, Forteau, NL; brothers Sidney Mills, Ontario; David Mills, Ontario; sister Joyce Frank, Ontario; Sadie (Sadie) Tomlinson, Ontario ; grandchildren: Daniel Myles, Rachel Myles, Jessica Ricketts, Nathan Jordan, Matthew Jordan, Daniel Mills, Charmaine Boetlcher; also great-grandchildren Amanda and Samantha. Predeceased by brothers Sidney and David Mills; sisters Phyllis Delong, Ruth Murrant and Heather Mills. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. Donations in Shirleys memory may be made to the Kentville Fire Department, the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of ones choice. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 10th at 2:30pm at the Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street, Chaplain Mary Doherty-Fleet officiating. A Reception will follow the service.
