FANCY, Delbert (Dell) Allester, 86 of Pleasant River, Queens County passed away in the Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Friday, June 19, 2015 with his family by his side. Born on April 23, 1929 he was a son of the late Delbert B. and Myrtle V. (Frail) Fancy. Dad was a hard worker and provided for his family, working as an Operator on heavy equipment machinery. Before his retirement he worked with Harbour Construction for over thirty years in Dartmouth. Dell loved playing cards and watching his hockey and his cat. He is survived by his three daughters Susan (Cedric) Smith, North Brookfield; Janice (David) Coates; Lake Echo; Sheila (Blaine) Nightingale, Dartmouth; four sons Bruce (Debbie) Fancy, Pleasant River; Richard (Susan) Fancy, North Brookfield; Robert and Paul Fancy both of Liverpool; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dell was predeceased by his son Gary, brothers Ellard, Wilbert and Ellis Fancy. Dad was the last surviving member of his immediate family. As per requested cremation has taken place, and as dad’s request there will be no visitation or flowers. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Dell’s name may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Queens County Branch, North Queens Medical Centre or North Queens Fire Department or a charity of one’s choice.
