Obituary of Wade Russell Wheaton

Please share a memory of Wade to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
WHEATON, Wade Russell, 51, Pereaux, formerly of Kempt Shore passed away on July 8, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville with his sister by his side. Wade battled cancer for 13 courageous years; never complaining and took each and every day like a warrior. Every morning that he woke he thanked God. He would often say “I can tie my shoes, it's going to be a good day”. Wade suffered in silence as not to upset his family or friends. He would give a helping hand to anybody in need, right up until he went unconscious. Wade lived each and every day to his fullest, and will continue to be an inspiration to all. You are now free of sickness and pain to start your new life with your friends and family that have gone on before. He was not ours to keep and was just on loan. So when God saw you couldn't stand no more the took you home. Left behind to mourn is his mother, Betty (Dimock); daughter Hannah; son Noah; his 4-legged baby – Febee; sisters Lorraine (Raymond); Lisa (Pat); Leanda (Kevin); brothers Travis (Natalia); Chris (Katrina); nephews Tyler (Nadine); Zach (Mercy); Josh and Ryan; nieces Sarah (Iain); Laura (Andrew); Nicole and Sasha; bestest friends Matthew, Danny and John; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by father Blair Wheaton; sister Gail and Grandmother Olive. A special thank you to all who helped, cared and spent time with Wade, many thanks and may God bless you. To the nurses and doctors at the Valley Regional Hospital – Dr. Clarke, Anna Beth, family doctor Dr. Mary Joseph; VON/Pallative Care – Dr. Lori Burgess, Paulette and many more. To the Pharmasave in Canning; Pereaux General Store – Jim & wife; the Thorpe boys for your friendship; Cathy, Phylis, and Ron Dimock; Raymond for your unselfish time; Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home; New Brunswick friends and to mom for your long, hard and never ending love in caring for Wade for the last ten months. I can't imagine my life without you – no more advice to give, no one to help me repair the broken, and tell me what parts to get; no more phone calls, it all seems like a nightmare that won't go away – Broken for eternity Sissy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home and Chapels (Coldbrook) (902) 679-2822. “You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him; or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him only that he is gone; or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind; be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he'd want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on. - David Horkin -
