Steve and Family,
I was saddened to hear of Geralds passing. He was such a great community member and such a great supporter of the Wolfville Police Department over the years. I was fortunate to have a great working relationship with him and shared many practical jokes with him May all your memories be fond.

When I think back to my days in Wolfville and all those wonderful people, Gerald leads the pack. We had a lot of fun together at the fire dept where he nick named me "Mikey" because he had already claimed the "woody" name.
Condolences to Steve and his family

I had the honour and pleasure of working with Gerald for 12 or 13 years in the Wolfville Volunteer Fire Department. I learned a great deal from Gerald, not only about the fire service but about so many things. He was there for me through good and bad, always with advice and assistance. I visited him in The Elms most recently. He was a mentor, an educator and a coach. But most important he was a friend. Godspeed, Chief.

Im so sorry to hear of Geralds passing. I had the pleasure of working with him at the Town of Wolfville for a number of years. He and I always had wonderful, interesting conversations around the fire service, municipal government, and just humanity in general. He always made me laugh and I hoped that I made his day a little brighter with a laugh too. I will always remember him fondly.

Gerald was my uncle, but he was just like a father to me my whole life. Him and Jean took good care of me when I was young and Gerald was always there for me through some rough times. He always gave you his opinion weather you wanted it or not and that's what I liked the most about him. He loved to talk to you sometimes a bit longer than you had time for but people listened because he was a smart guy and he new what he was talking about. He loved a good joke and was a good guy to hang out with. Gerald loved the fire department which he served faithfully for over 40 years. He had lots of friends but liked his quiet time which is where I spent much time with him at his home in Wolfville. We had lots of talks, deep discussions , and debates of which he won them all, but that was fine with me because I just enjoyed his company. Now with both him and Jean gone there is a big void and a heavy heart and lots of tears. Goodbye my friend. Your buddy Don Welton
