DEMPSEY, Etta May (Porter) - 92, Morden, passed away at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on September 9th, 2015. Born in Glenmont on August 30, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Manson and Alice (Smythe) Porter. At the age of 65 Etta had her son-in-law David teach her how to drive. After several lessons her confidence was high and she decided to take a nice leisurely drive to Bridgewater all by herself, and she did just fine. Etta is survived by daughters Alice McKenzie, Berwick; JoAnn (David) Prall, Morden; son William - Bill (Julie) Berwick; sister Freda (Harold) Grover, Lakeville; brother, Lee (Glenne) Porter, Centerville; daughter-in-law Marlin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husband Joseph; son, John (Jack) and six sisters, Irene, Esther, Reta, Florence, Vera, Ricky; four brothers, Jerry, Leonard, Roy, Harry; and son-in-law Stanley McKenzie. Donations in Etta's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. No flowers by request. As requested there will be no visitation. A private family interment will be at a later date.
