SIMPSON, Roland Lindsay, 88, Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, formerly from Lockhartville, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2015. Born in Lockhartville on January 22, 1927, he was the son of the late Howard and Effie Simpson. Roland was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He worked at Minas Basin Pulp & Power Company for 41 years. Left with fond and loving memories are his daughters, Sandra (Carl) Kerr, Lockhartville; Katherine (Rick) Sherrard, Kentville; Karen (Gerry) Wells, Ellershouse; Grace Smith (Robert Stevens), Chester; sons, Bryon (Carol) Simpson, Mt. Denson; Howard (Cindy) Simpson, Mt. Denson; grandchildren, Michael Kerr (Audrey Jacquard), Lockhartville; Michelle Kerr (Jason States), Bishopville; Matthew Smith (Samantha Bosca), Fredericton; Jane Sherrard (Sonya Hill), Kentville; Troy Simpson, Mt. Denson; Anthony Sherrard (Danielle de Graaf), Centreville; Troy Wells (Elizabeth Munro), Windsor; Sara Smith (Nathan Parker), Cole Harbour; Angela (Chris) Bigelow, Billtown and 17 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Marion; son Alan; sisters, Florence Overson, Muriel Welton, Carrie Joudrey, Ellen Kelly, Ora Margeson, Marguerite MacManus and brother Austin. Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 24 at 1:00p.m. in the Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport with Rev. Thelma McLeod officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 902-542-4656.
