HILTZ, Evelyn Jean Age 69, of Kentville passed away at the Valley Regional Hospital, at 10:15am on on Saturday, October 3, 2015 surrounded by her two loving children Michelle and Robert; granddaughter Brittany; her best friend Myrna Harnum, loving sister Judy Weir and family friend Erica Wellwood-Fletcher. Evelyn is survived by her two children, daughter Michelle Hiltz (Kentville); son Robert (Bobby) (Kentville); granddaughters Kyla Hiltz (Steam Mill) and Brittany Hiltz-Graves (Aldershot); newborn great-granddaughter Sandra Jean Marie Hiltz; nine sisters, Edith Daurie; Mary Blankhorn; Judy Weir; Louise Salsman; Francis Bezanson; Violet (Junior) Chase; Cecilia Salsman; June (Marvin) Dorey; Kathy (Laurie) Dorey; five brothers, Robert (Debbie) Salsman; Frank (Kelly) Salzman; Nick (Jeanie) Salsman; Danny (Alistair) (Rose) and John Salsman; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Robert Basil Percy Hiltz (1972); her parents Lemual Reginald and Helen Flora (Reid) Salsman. Evelyn was a long time resident of Kentville where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Canaan, Nova Scotia. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kentville. Evelyn loved to read, write in her journal and loved going to dances and listening to music. She also loved her soaps and scratch tickets. She loved her visits from family and friends even when she was cranky. Evelyn was funny and loud at times, she loved her family, children, friends; loved Christmas gatherings and having a few drinks. She will be truly missed. As per her request Cremation has taken place., A Graveside Service will be held at at the Elm Grove Cemetery, on Thursday, October 8 at 2:00p.m., Rev. Sarah Stevens officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one's choice. A special appreciation is extended to the nursing/ CCA staff during Evelyn's final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Chapels, Coldbrook, (902) 679-2822.
